Illustrations drawn by hand. Never AI.
Original illustrations made entirely in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. From €10 per illustration.
Original illustrations for your book, made entirely in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop — real drawing, real art direction. From €10 per illustration.
What we illustrate
Illustration does for the inside (and sometimes the outside) of a book what a cover does for the first impression — it gives the page a world. We make:
- Spot illustrations — small images that punctuate a chapter or a page.
- Full-page and full-spread illustrations — for fiction, gift editions and non-fiction.
- Chapter headers, vignettes and decorative elements — recurring art that gives a book its visual identity.
- Children’s book illustration — character and scene work, page by page.
- Maps — for fantasy, history, travel and memoir.
- Diagrams and infographics — clear, designed explanations for non-fiction.
- Cover artwork — when your cover calls for original illustration (works hand-in-hand with cover design).
Illustrator and Photoshop — and why it matters
We work exclusively in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop — the industry-standard tools, and the reason your art arrives clean, editable and print-ready. Illustrator (vector) is for line art, maps, diagrams, icons and anything that must scale to any size without losing a single crisp edge. Photoshop (raster) is for painterly, textured, full-colour illustration at print resolution. Many illustrations use both — vector linework finished with painted texture. You keep the editable source files.
Why never AI
We don’t generate artwork with AI. Ever — the same standard as our covers. AI can fill a frame with something plausible at a glance, but it can’t hold a consistent character across thirty pages of a children’s book, honour the specific world of your story, or make the dozens of small decisions that make an illustration yours rather than an average of everyone else’s. Hand-made artwork is unambiguously yours, consistent across a whole book, and one of a kind.
What an illustration costs
From €10 per illustration. The exact price per piece depends on complexity (a simple spot illustration costs far less than a detailed full scene), level of detail (line art is quicker than richly painted work), size (a small vignette versus a full-page or full-spread piece), and quantity (a series is quoted as a set, and volume brings the per-piece price down). Either way you get a fixed quote per illustration and for the set before we start — no surprises.
Send us the brief — how many, what kind, what size — and we’ll come back with a clear per-illustration price and a total, usually within 24 hours.
How the process runs

- Concept / sketch. For larger sets, we share an initial direction so the style is right before we go further.

Illustration questions, answered
How much is one illustration?
From €10, depending on complexity, detail and size. A simple spot piece sits near the low end; a detailed full-page colour illustration is more. You get a fixed price per piece before we start.
Can you illustrate a whole children’s book?
Yes — that’s quoted as a set, with consistent characters and style across every page. Series pricing brings the per-illustration cost down.
Do you do maps?
Yes — fantasy, historical, travel and memoir maps, usually in Illustrator so they scale perfectly.
Will the style be consistent across the book?
Yes. Consistency across a set is exactly what hand illustration delivers and AI can’t. We lock the style at the concept stage.
Do I keep the artwork?
Yes. On full payment you receive the deliverables and the editable AI/PSD source files, to use for your book in print and digital.
Do you really never use AI?
Never. Every illustration is drawn by hand in Illustrator and Photoshop.
